When Ice Cubes Melt

There were so many ice cubes and I couldn't keep them all frozen. It took too much energy. And some of them had melted, then refroze at some point because they were all clumped together and jagged and it even scratched me at one point. It was impossible to even get to the actual ice cubes because the spiky clump of frozen water was in the way.

I was feeling drained: an electrical psychic pull that zapped me dead tired each time I'd open the freezer.

So, I let some, not all, of the ice cubes melt. The large, ragged mess of ice I straight tossed into the front yard, and others I let slowly shift and dissolve in a white bowl on the counter. One ice cube even had a small black bug in it and I'm not sure how it got in there or how long it had been in that state. The bug was dead.

That one scene from Star Wars.

They all turned back to water. It didn't matter where I let them melt. Maybe they'll turn back into ice by someone else, eventually, in the circle of life?

I kept some of the ice cubes. They weren't shapeshifting and it felt more manageable, therefore I felt a bit more relaxed and when I reached into the freezer I could pull out an ice cube. I would get an actual cube of ice.

Sometimes, it's good to let ice cubes melt.

Cull that which does not serve you.

xoxo
