On Floating And It Not Being The Rapture
This feels unsettling. It all feels unsettling because we’re to go on throughout the day like everything is normal. This is all normal, just go grocery shopping like normal. Move along. But, it’s not. There’s a miasma of anxiousness and tension mixed with a depressed state that is challenging to describe with words. It’s just all in the air and it’s difficult to see.

Turning off the news doesn’t help.
Going outside at 9am, standing in pure sunshine doesn’t help.
Cuddling with the cutest dog this side of I-405does doesn’t does help.
A glass of wine, honestly, does help…one can at least feel “spirited away” with a glass of wine if The Rapture isn’t happening.
“I cannot believe your cousin posted that video on Facebook!”
“Did you see the news, there was a shooting at that one school…”
“I heard it was going to rain this weekend. Finally.”
Sometimes, everything feels so overwhelming with a side of whiplash and my mind just disconnects and I float above it all for just a few seconds…
“Ma’am! Your card. Your card is still in the machine.”
“I need notebook paper. And can you sign this form?”
